The Isle of Harris Single Malt Whisky is the distillery’s new signature expression, created to showcase the fruity, floral and lightly peated character of its Outer Hebridean spirit.
Distilled in the harbour village of Tarbert, the whisky is matured on Harris in a combination of ex-Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace bourbon casks alongside ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The component whiskies are then brought together and married for a minimum of 12 weeks before bottling, allowing the flavours to settle into a smooth and harmonious whole.
The nose brings butterscotch, iced cherry Bakewell tart and bright fruit, followed by delicate floral notes and a gentle warmth of spice. Rich buttery caramel, sweet clove and ginger develop on the palate, balanced by the dry, flinty quality associated with Isle of Harris spirit. The finish is long and creamy, with a subtle thread of Outer Hebridean peat smoke.
Bottled at 46% ABV, without chill filtration or artificial colouring, this is an approachable yet distinctive island single malt made to be opened, shared and enjoyed.
